MICROBLADING

Am I a good candidate?

GREAT Candidates:

No Medical Conditions

No Medications

Little to no use of anti aging products/treatments like retinols, AHA (or acids), facials, serums, laser treatment etc. (All of these exfoliants will affect the retention and results)

Dry, less oily skin (oil fades and blurs strokes, require more touch-ups and soft/fuzzy results)

Clients with Fitzpatrick Scale I-IV (1-4) Skin

Some exisiting hair present to add dimension (Created a more 3D look)

Non-Smoker (Smoking fades pigment faster)

Avoids Sun exposure and uses sunscreen (Sun exposure or tanning fades pigment)

Less Ideal Candidates:

Oily Skin, Large pores (Oil prodcution fades and blurs strokes, require more touch-ups and more soft/fuzzy look). It is recommended to do a POWDER/SHADOW procedure instead.

Clients with Fitzpatrick Scale V-VI (5-6) Skin, more pigment in the skin will blur the microblading and it will be more dull than regular make up that sits on top of the skin

Medial Conditions (Its difficult to predict that affects of different conditions)

Medications (They can affect retention, fade or blur pigment)

NOT Recommeded for Microblading:

Bleeding Disorders- (Bleeding pushes out pigment and prevents retention)

Blood Thinners-You MUST have proof of doctors note saying you can temporarily stop the blood thinners to have microblading performed

Accutane Users-you must be off Accutane for 1 whole year, no exceptions, the skin is very thin and compromised from Accutane and not suitable to withstand the microblading

WILL NOT MICROBLADE THE FOLLOWING:

Pregnant

Nursing

Under 18 years of age

Uncontrolled diabetics

Immunocompromised (recent surgeries, ill-flu, cold etc, in tx for chemo-radiation etc)

Keloid scar history (The brows can keloid as well and its not worth risking your face)

Highly sensitive skin with history of rashes, reactions and allergies

Opens sores, cold sores, rashes, pimples - these must be healed

Moles cannot be microbladed over

UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS: we will not microblade unnatural shapes or colors

**Chicago Ink reserves the right to decline services to a client at anytime**

**It is the clients responsiblity to be thorough and honest about all medical history prior to the procedure**

Does it hurt?

The only part that causes a little pain is the first minute or the procedure.  On a scale of 1-10 clients usually rate it a 4-6, and this discomfort is comparable to tweezing or waxing. After that part the numbing gel is applied and the client feels nothing. Client's typically say they expected it to be worse. And many clients doze off or take a nap during the microblading!

*Women should avoid scheduling appointments during menstruation as the body is generally more sensitive around this time**

What is the touch up appointment like?

It is a shorter appointment but very important. We will evaluate how they healed, how your skin took the pigment, consider your wants, make changes to pigment shade, hair stroke selection & layer in more hair.

What if I have previous pigment or faded tattoo on my brows?

If you have existing pigment on yours brows and would like microblading you must first be approved. Please send 3-5 clear photos, in GOOD lighting of your brows to: chicagoinktattoopmu@gmail.com

*Clients that schedule without notifying Chicago Ink of existing pigment may be referred for removal and will lose the $100 deposit from the appointment**

We will carefully evaluate the shape, color, and how dark or saturated the brows are. Although we would love to help everyone we would rather turn a client away than agree to service them and risk them ending up with rainbow brows and two shapes of brows. Brows that are too dark or with a drastic shape are not able to be camoflauged with microblading. Removal by laser or saline solution would be advised first.

This technique consists of delicate individual hairs tattooed together in the direction of your natural brow hair, creating a softly feathered effect. The result is beautifully natural, on-trend eyebrows that are totally flattering to the whole face. Microblading is newest technique for beautifully natural-looking eyebrows! It is a manual technique performed with a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the epidermis. Pigments match original eyebrow color and the result is natural, on-trend eyebrows that are totally flattering to the whole face.

Due to the nature of this service we kindly ask that you arrive unaccompanied to your scheduled appointment. Please leave friends, boyfriends/husbands, children and pets at home.

POST-CARE

To achieve the full results of the microblading procedure, It is absolutely important to follow these steps:

-This is a 10 day long dry heal, meaning no ointment, sweat, water, creams, or bandages for 10 days. The brows are to stay dry and moisture free.

-Do not touch your brows at all! It is tempting but touching can infect them. Your brows may be itchy, do not scratch or pick. You could lift the pigment and cause scarring.

-Do not shower for 48 hours.

-Avoid direct water on the brows for 10 days (i.e. shower spray, face washing, swimming, rain, steam).

-After 48 hours prior to showering, gently apply a very thin layer of vaseline over the brows using clean hands. (This will seal out moisture, soap and shampoo.) Do not let shower spray directly on brows. Immediately after your shower, remove the Vaseline so the brows become dry again. DO NOT SCRUB OR RUB... blot and pat off vaseline only.

-Do nothing that would cause scabbing or flakes to come off prematurely- your body is healing- it will exfoliate the flakes or scabs on its own.

  • DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring and pigment loss.

During healing (first 2 weeks) your eyebrows will appear darker and bolder due to natural scabbing and healing. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures. Don't freak out, this is normal!

What to expect during healing process

Right after your treatment your brows will appear bolder and darker than your final healed result. The intensity of the pigment will settle within a few days and the color will lighten over about thirty days as it completely sets in. Please be patient - great things come to those who wait.

Follow-Up Appointment

A follow-up appointment is necessary for your eyebrows to be considered FINISHED. This appointment should be scheduled to be performed after exactly 8 weeks after your initial visit. Important! The touch-up appointment is crucial to achieve optimal results - do not skip this step!

Permanent makeup is NOT recommended for any clients who are or have:

  • Pregnant or Nursing
